We're going to the Zoo!

And not just once but hundreds of times all next year!My mum got me and my hubby Zoo membership for Christmas. When I was a kid we had zoo membership most of the time and we all loved going to the zoo. It's great to just go to see a few things and not feel like you have to be there all day. I am also pretty excited to take my little boy there. He is so fascinated by animals, I think he would love it! I keep singing that song - 'We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo. How about you, you, you. You can come too, too, too. We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo.'

A new toy!

Last night we went to Christmas at my Grandma's house, and much fun was had by all! The little boy enjoyed the masses of people and playing pass the parcel (him) and I enjoyed seeing all my great relations. We open presents youngest to oldest and my boy was given a rattle and a gift voucher for Windmill. As you can see the new toy is delicious, and I am pretty excited about visiting Windmill soon!


I have also been getting a bit of clothes sewing done (while finishing off Christmas presents) and here are some baggy pants for the boy. This time I am using whatever fabric I have in my stash, so I think there will be some interesting outfit combinations!

Free Pattern

I love free patterns! I am always searching for them, finding them and using them. Its just so fun. I think its wonderful that someone has created something and wants to share it with me! The most recent free pattern I found was from here. I am using her pinwheel pattern to make - pinwheels of course!

Now, especially as it is Christmas I have been feeling that I would like to share a pattern I have made. So . . . da da! Here is a Christmas Elf I made with a pattern for you to make him too! He is small and quick to make and just so cute. He is made with polar fleece (scraps will do) and only uses a small amount of stuffing.

Christmas present sewing!

I am pretty sure that the people I am giving these to don't read my blog, and even if they do I am putting the pictures up anyway. Above is a froggy zippered pouch and below is an apron. I am having great fun sewing and making things. Hopefully I can bear to part with them!

It's raining its pouring . . .

Ok, it's not exactly pouring but this weather is considered 'rain' and not just the 'showers' we always seem to have. Of course it decides to rain when I forget to bring the clothes in!


The little man needed to go out so we went out for a walk and enjoyed getting rained on. We live right near the linear park and love to walk along the Torrens River (it's much more like a winter creek) and it was flowing a little because of the rain. It was so pretty and soothing that the little man fell asleep!

all is calm . . . all is bright

I won another giveaway! It's pretty amazing. Normally I am not someone who wins anything, but while visiting Rest is not idleness (I love the name of that blog) I entered Pip's giveaway celebrating 100 posts and 1 year of blogging. I won this little Christmassy wall hanging which is now being beautiful at my house!

My very own soap!

I have been thinking about making my own soap for a while now, but this beautiful soap made me decide to do it! I did drop some of it on the floor (as you can see by the dent) but otherwise it worked well. It was so fun and I can't wait til this is cured and I can use it. I am also pretty excited to make another batch. I managed to find a great Australian soap making site which had good instructions, and was able to find all I needed to make it at the supermarket! If you have ever wanted to make soap - give it a go.

Good friends

These two dragons are good friends, you can just tell by looking at them! Every flat surface in my house has been covered in dragon bits over the past week, but no longer! I have finished them all, some for the market and some for individual orders. These two are in transit as I type. I wonder what its like to be posted?

Its Christmas!

It's Christmas at our house! It took a little longer to get the tree up than usual but it is up now and we are enjoying it (especially the little man). We have also decked out our living room with pretty lights. I love to sit in a dark room at night with the lights on. Especially when it is still and quiet. I have also been listen to lots of Christmas music lately. My husband always has music playing, so I have been queuing up all my favourite Christmas music. So fun! Now I just have to decide what we will be doing Christmas day and finish making presents. Christmas is coming really fast this year!

Another dragon

After having so many lovely comments about my dragons since the giveaway I have been motivated to make some more to take to the market! This guy/girl is the first one finished. I have also had a few special requests, so I think I will be making dragons now for a while. They are so much fun! I am also starting to make some bugs, so we will see how they turn out.
