Cushions everywhere

I recently bought new covers for my bed and decided I needed new cushion covers as well. I then preceeded to make a whole bunch of other cushion covers I had waiting for me to make. This means I haven't been doing much fun sewing but alot of productive sewing. It is not a bad thing. My sewing space is much more beautiful for it. I used fabric from IKEA (I love the fabric IKEA have), and I am really happy how they turned out. I have a hundred more ideas of things I want to make so hopefully soon I will be able to report on them.

Oh no!

It has almost been a week since my last post. How dreadful I feel. I have been making little Noah's Ark animals recently, but none finished yet (pics to come later). I have included a few pictures of stuff I have made just so this post wouldn't be so borring.

Birds

I never knew it before, but I really like birds. For the past little while the main thing I have been drawing and sewing is birds. Here is one recent bird I have made. He is a phone pouch with a cute button at the back to do him up. He has been really great protecting my phone from the contents of my bag, which can sometimes be very scratchy.

This past week my sewing space has been getting into a very large mess. I don't seem to have anywhere to put anything. I was wondering through a blog the other day and saw this lovely bookcase. I am so inspired, and am going to get around to sorting soon. I promise.

a picklestick

When I decided to start a blog I wanted to think up a really great name for it. As you can see I thought up a silly name instead. I sewed today to make up for yesterday and here is the result, a picklestick. I was sure they must exist in real life and here he is. He doesn't have a name yet, but I am sure that will come. He can keep me company while I sit and post.

Sewing Aids

I re-read where I talked about visiting my best patchwork shop and the tape measure fabric. Well, I finished my 'sewing aids' and thought I would post the pics. I love my new sewing aids. They keep everything together and I can easily add thread etc in to take with me places.

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed . . .

It has been a very long day, and I am sad to say it had no sewing in it. I shall have to make up for the lack of sewing tomorrow. I went to the library today and returned my very overdue books. Luckily the librarian didn't shoot me and I was allowed to borrow more! I got some great knitting books and silk painting books. I also picked a few 'house' books. I got all inspired and drew my 'dream house' (I have done this thousands of times before. Its great fun). Here is a pretty picture of some cute monkeys I made . They are all given as presents or sold now. It is sad that they have left me, but I am sure they are having fun whereever they are.

Here I am again. I am so proud this isn't one of those things I do once and forget about. Life is quite exciting at the moment because I have started a course called Art and Contemporary Craft (textiles). It is very thrilling and has alot of homework (yay!). I of course decided I needed a new school bag to bring all my supplies with me to and fro. I made this simple bag with some of my favourite ikea fabric and I love it!

I have been drawing bugs (as you can see, I am not a great drawer) and will be turning them into something more colourful soon. Until I blog again!

Hello

Oooh, look. I am writing a post on a blog. I have wanted to do this for ages and now I finaly am. This is a monster dude I made a couple of weeks ago. He has many other friends but I was too lazy to post pics of them all. Making stuff is my best and favourite thing. I love fabric and paper and everything else good. I went to my favourite fabric shop a few days ago and bought some tape measure fabric. I am hoping to turn it into 'sewing aids'. You can never have too many sewing aids I say. I shall not say anything silly like 'I am going to post every day'. I think I will just do it when I do it.
